Start your tour with a relaxing stroll along Fürth's magnificent Hornschuchpromenade and Königswarterstraße — an impressive ensemble of Historicist and Art Nouveau architecture. Together, these two streets form one of the most remarkable listed cityscapes in southern Germany. Elegant townhouses and leafy central boulevards give the area its distinctive character.

The famous Ludwig Railway once ran along the central strip—an early symbol of technical progress and urban modernity. The spacious layout of the promenades is unique to Fürth, and the richly decorated façades still reflect the prosperity of their former residents. Take a moment to look up and admire the intricate architectural details.

Just a few minutes from the promenade lies Fürth’s Municipal Park—a true green gem in the heart of the city. Designed in 1951 by landscape architect Hans Schiller for the Grünen und Blühen garden show, this historic park actually originated from the former cemetery beside the striking Auferstehungskirche (Church of the Resurrection).

Today, the park is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors–perfect for a stroll, a relaxing break, or some outdoor exercise. Highlights include the Rose Garden near the church and the Fountain Courtyard between the Auferstehungskirche and the Stadtparkcafé. The latter is ideal for a culinary break: enjoy a cool drink or a sweet treat from the in-house bakery–preferably with a view of the park.

Fürth’s Old Town is perfect for a leisurely stroll. Narrow streets lined with lovingly restored half-timbered houses tell the story of the historic Cloverleaf City. Between colorful façades, you’ll discover small boutiques, cozy cafés, and hidden courtyards—every corner revealing something new.

A particular architectural highlight is the Church of St Michael, the city’s oldest parish church, located in the very heart of the Old Town. Just a few steps away lies lively Gustavstraße, lined with popular bars and restaurants that give the district its unmistakable charm.

Numerous restaurants and taverns invite you to linger—whether you fancy Schäufele (roast pork shoulder), hearty Bratwurst, or seasonal specialties, you’ll find several places here that serve traditional Franconian delicacies.

Take a seat in one of the cozy restaurants, soak up the charm of the historic surroundings, and enjoy a well-deserved lunch break.

Refreshed, continue your walk along the idyllic promenade on the banks of the Rednitz River. This beautiful stretch on the western edge of the city center reveals Fürth’s quieter, more natural side—perfect for a stroll and a deep breath of fresh air. Here, you’ll follow in the footsteps of the city’s former river baths and discover architectural gems such as the listed Kißkalt Houses. Set right on the waterfront, these buildings delight visitors with their distinctive character and picturesque setting. Take a moment to enjoy the relaxed atmosphere, the gentle sound of the water, and the view of the surrounding greenery—a soothing stage on your journey through the city.
