An overview of the alternative arts scene
In addition to renowned theaters and established cultural institutions, Fürth also has a lot to offer beyond the mainstream. Those who appreciate new perspectives will find what they’re looking for in the independent cultural scene, in former industrial warehouses, old basements, or green temporary spaces. Whether it’s a concert club, cultural center, sustainability initiative, or DIY underground scene, these places embody diversity, creative energy, and cultural commitment.
Kofferfabrik
A concert venue, pub, cabaret theater, and cultural center all in one: The Kofferfabrik is a staple of Fürth’s independent cultural scene. In the rustic, charming industrial atmosphere of the former factory building, you can enjoy live music, theater, readings, and exhibitions, sometimes loud and rousing, sometimes quiet and moving. A place brimming with creative energy!
Kopf und Kragen
Located in the heart of downtown Fürth, the Kopf und Kragen Club offers alternative music fans a diverse lineup: from punk rock and hip-hop to ska and electronic music—here you can experience up-and-coming bands and established acts in an intimate club setting. As an accessible venue with room for around 120 guests, the club is a vibrant hub for the region’s independent cultural scene.
Kulturgewächshaus
A vibrant hub for urban agriculture, art, and community is taking shape in a former nursery in Unterfarrnbach. The Kulturgewächshaus Fürth combines permaculture with creative initiatives such as exhibitions, concerts, and workshops. Built sustainably and designed with community in mind—it’s a growing project that enriches Fürth’s cultural landscape.
kunstkeller o27
Tucked away beneath Ottostraße lies the kunstkeller o27, a former air-raid shelter. Run by volunteers, the club can accommodate around 80 guests and features a diverse lineup of punk, hardcore, electronic music, readings, and cabaret. Its DIY spirit, close ties to the scene, and unique atmosphere make o27 a true hidden gem.
Kulturort Badstraße 8
Located right on the Fürth Riverside Promenade, the former river bathing area has been transformed into a hub for art, culture, and community. The Kulturort Badstraße 8 e.V. not only preserves a piece of Fürth’s identity but also offers a diverse program of concerts, exhibitions, readings, and theater performances for people of all ages.
