Albrecht Dürer Airport Nürnberg

Short facts

  • Nürnberg

The airport is the international airport of the metropolitan area of Nuremberg.

In 2018, Albrecht Dürer Airport Nuremberg ranked tenth among German airports in terms of passenger numbers. That year, it reached it's highest passenger count (4.5 million) since opening.

The airport is located about seven kilometres north of Nuremberg's city centre. The U2 underground line runs from the airport's underground station to the city centre and the southwestern part of the city. The journey to the main railway station takes approximately twelve minutes. Two bus routes connect the airport with the northwestern part of Nuremberg. One of these routes goes to Erlangen, while the other heads to Fürth town hall, where there are connections to the U1 underground line and Fürth’s bus network.

The airport is connected to Marienbergstraße via Flughafenstraße. This road ends at the "B4" A-road to the west and at Ziegelstein to the east. The "B2" A-road can be reached via Bierweg, and the "A3" motorway is accessible via both of these A-roads.

Taxis are available directly outside the arrivals hall at all times, the journey to the city centre takes aproximately 15 minutes. There are also several car hire companies located within the arrivals hall.
