The Michaelis-Kirchweih or St. Michael´s Fair in October, the Queen of Franconian Fairs, has been attracting people from far and wide for over 900 years. For two weeks everything is dedicaded to St. Michael´s Church, which was consecrated more than 956 years ago.

The street festival, with its charming mixture of market and funfair, is considered the largest and most beautiful of its kind in Germany!

That is why the festival was included in the nationwide register of intangible cultural heritage in 2018. The highlight is the harvest festival procession on the last sunday of the fair. With 3,000 to 4,000 participants, it is the second largest traditional parade in Bavaria after the Oktoberfest in Munich.

Date 2025: October 03 to 15
