A total of 215 steps lead through various staircases up to the 52-metre-high tower. Along the way, you’ll encounter not only “bureaucracy” but also significant events and artefacts from Fürth’s city history. From here, you can enjoy panoramic views of the pedestrian zone and the **Town Hall**. Even in poor weather, a visit is worthwhile thanks to the integrated public library, whose glass façade offers beautiful views of the southern part of the city and **Fürther Freiheit**. Church towers with a view ---------------------------- Fürth’s church towers also offer the chance to enjoy the city from above. Both the tower of **St. Michael's Church** in the **Old Town** and that of **Auferstehungskirche** in the **Municipal Park** can be climbed on selected dates. Another real highlight is the tower of **St. Paul’s Church**, the tallest in Fürth. Solarberg ------------ The “summit” of the former rubbish dump offers a fantastic view over Fürth and the surrounding area. The top of the hill has been laid out with paved paths for easier walking. Benches provide places to sit and relax, while informative display boards share interesting insights. A visit to **Solarberg** is also ideal for cyclists, as the route is seamlessly connected to Fürth’s cycle path network. Alte Veste ------------- The **Alte Veste** was built between 1228 and 1235 as a so-called motte-and-bailey castle on the **Rosenberg** near Zirndorf. Once used for military purposes, today it serves as a fantastic viewing platform that is free to visit. The climb involves no fewer than 162 steps and a 28-metre elevation, but it's well worth the effort! From the top, you can enjoy sweeping views over Fürth, Nuremberg, Zirndorf, the Fürth district, and on clear days, even as far as **Fränkische Schweiz**.
